WTF Product of the Year Nomination for ‘NotBillClinton’

A few weeks ago, my mobile app, ‘NotBillClinton’, was nominated for Product Hunt’s Golden Kitty Award for the category WTF Product of the Year. Now, I know you are probably thinking “Wait, what? That’s actually a thing?”. Yup, and to be honest, there were some really funny products that were nominated. So I had a promotional video made and I added it to the NotBillClinton page on Product Hunt.
This nomination for something that, well to be honest, sounded a little like a joke, actually means a lot to me. You see, this was the first time that I had been nominated for an individual award. Everything I’ve been nominated for or have won in the past has been a group effort, whether it was going undefeated in football, or winning talent shows with my high school band, it was a group effort. So to recieve a nomination for something that I took the time to sit down, design, and create, was truely special. It was even Tweeted out by Product Hunt themselves!
Unfortuanetly the app didn’t win. But in the week span that voting was open, the app ended up with 154 votes and was the Most Upvoted product in the category. It got some downloads out of it too!
I also just found out that NotBillClinton is actualy spreading across Michigan State University!
