What is BeanGo Town?

BeanGo Town, a fully on-chain Web3 game, is powered by Portkey’s SDK. It embodies the feasibility and easiness of the utilisation of an account abstraction (AA) wallet by a game. This marks a significant step for Portkey in embracing an emerging trend in the Web3 gaming world. By seamlessly connecting Web2 accounts with on-chain addresses, you can easily sign up BeanGo Town with your social details for instant access. No need to import wallets, manage seed phrases, or worry about depositing tokens for gas or transaction fees.

Each game move is powered by aelf’s VRF (Verifiable Random Function), which is coded on aelf’s blockchain. This means that the transaction hash associated with every game move is securely recorded on aelf’s blockchain ledger. This immutability ensures that the results are permanent and can not be manipulated. Also, the full auditability of VRF’s operations empowers all players to examine, at any given time, the transaction hashes of their moves on aelf’s blockchain, promoting transparency and trust. As such, BeanGo Town distinguishes itself from typical games in these key aspects:

1. Each BeanGo Town account functions as a Portkey account abstraction wallet.
2. Gameplay employs aelf’s on-chain VRF to securely determine the number of steps, eliminating any possibility of tampering.
3. Access to the game requires users to acquire the free BeanPass NFT (simply sign up and claim it!), which can later be traded on-chain as digital assets.

Once you acquire your free BeanPass NFT, you can play the game by using ‘GOs’ to move your character across the game board. Landing on different squares can earn you varying amounts of ‘Beans’, and the ‘Beans’ you gathered during gameplay can increase your rank on the ‘Leaderboard’. Higher rankings can lead to rewards once the weekly and seasonal challenges commence, so you’re encouraged to participate daily!

How to Play BeanGo Town

1 . Getting Ready!

You can play the game via Portkey’s app. To do so, download Portkey from the official website: https://portkey.finance/ (available on iOS and Android platforms, and Chrome).

Alternatively, you can visit https://www.beangotown.com/.

If you do not have a Portkey account, both methods allow you to create a Portkey wallet account with your social information, including your Google account and Apple ID, or via email and phone number. If you already have a Portkey account, you can start playing by simply logging in to your account on Portkey’s wallet app, or logging in to your Portkey account at https://www.beangotown.com/.

2 . Enter the main game page (only applicable to Portkey app)

On Portkey’s app, you can access BeanGo Town game by navigating to the “Discover” section, which will lead you to the game’s homepage.

3 . Get BeanPass NFT

You need a BeanPass NFT to play the game. If you created a new Portkey account to play the game, whether via the Portkey app or BeanGo Town’s website, you can claim a BeanPass NFT for free. Simply click the “BeanPass NFT” button to claim it at no cost.

If you have an existing Portkey account, to get a free BeanPass NFT, you just need to have a balance of 2 ELF or more in your main chain or sidechain address, and you can claim your BeanPass NFT. Claiming your BeanPass NFT will not consume any of your ELF tokens.

If you do not have a balance of 2 ELF in your wallet, don’t worry! You can either use Portkey’s app ‘Buy’ function to get 2 ELF tokens, or you contact the BeanGo Town team on their Twitter, and they will share instructions on how you can BeanPass NFT airdrop.

4 . Start the game

Once you have your BeanPass NFT, you’re all set! Just press “Go” to start playing the game.

Each time you “Go”, you receive a random number of steps that your character will take in the game. You have a daily allowance of 20 “Go,” and each move you make consumes one “Go.” Your “Go” count resets to 20 at 00:00 UTC every day.

5 . Earn Beans

The number of steps your character moves is determined by a randomly generated on-chain number. After completing the steps, your character will land at a square, and you will earn the Beans allocated to that square.

There are 3 different types of squares on the board:

a . Ordinary square: You get 1 Bean.

b . Special square: You get 5 Beans.

c . Treasure chest: You open a treasure chest containing 30–50 Beans, depending on your luck.

6 . Rank on Leaderboard

The weekly leaderboard runs from Tuesday 00:00 UTC to Monday 00:00 UTC, with Monday 00:00 UTC to Tuesday 00:00 UTC designated as the public announcement period for top rankers.

7 . Participate and win rewards!

If you are ranked high on the BeanGo Town leaderboard, you stand a chance to be rewarded for your participation. The reward distribution will be as follows:

Weekly Leaderboard

Week 1: Top 25 players win 50 ELF each, with a total weekly prize pool of 1,250 ELF.

Week 2: Top 25 players win 100 ELF each, with a total weekly prize pool of 2,500 ELF.

Week 3: <Special Halloween Campaign> Top 10 players win 200 ELF each, 11–20th positioned players win 100 ELF each with a total weekly prize pool of 3000 ELF.

Week 4: Top 25 players win 150 ELF each, with a total weekly prize pool of 3,750 ELF.

Week 5: Top 25 players win 200 ELF each, with a total weekly prize pool of 5,000 ELF.

Starting from Week 6, the Top 20 players win 25 ELF each, with a total weekly prize pool of 500 ELF.

Seasonal Leaderboard

Designating 4 weeks as a “Season”, where all players can join in the Seasonal rankings with their highest weekly score during the period. The top ten users on the Season Leaderboard will receive additional rewards. The Season Challenge rewards can be stacked with the weekly rewards.

Held monthly, with a 4-week cycle and a total prize pool of 1,000 ELF. Rewards are given to the top 10 players, with each receiving 100 ELF.

BeanGo Town Launch Campaign

To celebrate the launch of BeanGo Town, there will be additional rewards for the launch campaign! Taking place from 10 October to 17 October, you have a chance to win 20 ELF tokens when you participate in our launch campaign.

All you have to do is visit https://zealy.io/c/beangotown, complete the BeanGo town quests, and earn XP. At the end of BeanGo Town’s launch campaign on 17 October, players with 60 XP or more on the leaderboard will qualify for the reward.

If there are more than 100 users with 60 EXP or more, all eligible users will enter a lucky draw, and 100 winners will be randomly picked to be rewarded 20 ELF each.

All notifications on the winning players will be made on BeanGo Town’s social media platforms, including Telegram and Twitter, so follow them to be up to date.
