After the death of her only nephew, in 2014, Helen Evans decided to set up a charity in an attempt to keep his memory alive.

Ross Patterson was killed after a night out with his friends. Every year, 2 million visits are made to A&E for alcohol related illnesses and injuries.

Since its formation in 2014, Get Home Safe have ran several events to raise awareness about the dangers of a night out. They’re a small charity from Taunton, who are not funded, but hope to one day spread their aim and their message across the nation.

They run a “Safe Hub” for people struggling after a night out. Helen intends to make this bigger in the near future.
