Portsmouth’s Southsea Green — Keep Pompey Green

Southsea Green is a community garden, originally found from long forgotten wasteland in 2014. Thousands of hard-working hours later, it has transformed into a welcoming place for the community, especially for those with no where to grow their own produce.

The aim of Southsea Green has always been to to get more people growing, buying local food and crafts and to share tools, campaigns and resources with others who care about the city we live in. To help make Pompey proud of it’s green-spaces.

They have both volunteer gardeners and crafters, and work themselves and with other Portsmouth groups to give talks and demonstrations to pass on their gardening and craft skills to the community.

The garden is open to the public for a few hours each week and they hope to increase this in 2020.
