Dread And Fear In America
Note: I published this on Saturday, January 18.
Eight years ago, January 20, 2017, with the poke of a needle in my arm at 11:40 AM, fifteen seconds later, I was unconscious for the next two-and-a-half hours as I had my gallbladder removed.
After being woke up and discharged, I went home and thankfully missed the whole “American Carnage” speech, but I’ve lived with the fallout for nearly a decade. And now, because of anger and frustration over the price of eggs and gas, we have another four years (maybe more) of Orange Grover Cleveland.
Come Monday, the second coming of El Guapo of Jamaica Estates becomes a sickening reality for those of us who care about the rule of law and a civil society. He becomes just the second man to win the presidency after losing it. Because the weather for much of the country will be colder than your grandmother’s ice box next week, the reinstalling of America’s Caligula will take place in the Rotunda, where four years ago, his ‘fans’ descended upon that same rotunda and toppled statues, hunted down members of Congress and shat all over the place. All because he lost to Joe Biden. But they were just ‘peaceful visitors.’ Tourists. And I am the Czar of all the Russias.
