Since the start of the testnet three weeks ago, the number of nodes has grown significantly. There are 179 nodes online, and 140 more people have joined Discord communities since July.

The method for distributing files has been adjusted according to miner feedback so that the stable running nodes can get more work, and then the contribution income will increase gradually. In addition, IPFS stopping issues still need to be resolved.

Highlights in the last two weeks

Improve the speed of upload, the accumulation of contribution has been sped up
Issue fixed : Most of QQQ account displayed “Share time < 22hr” at July 8.

Network Resources

The number of mining devices has grown 3x since June 22.
The number of nodes has grown significantly. Total shared storage 383 TB , renting out storage usage 51.3TB, stored 5.7M files. The mining explorer will be released soon. In addition, the data will include all mining devices and network resources on the testnet.

On June 22, we launched phase 5 of our mining program. In total, 179 nodes from 11 countries are participating in the tesnet.

What’s the rule of Sharing time. What’s possible reason if your mining status displayed “< 22 hr”
Notice : Since your device must remain online at least 22 hours per day, it may not be eligible to earn income on your first mining date. In other words, a device added to your account will start to earn on the next day at 00:00 am.

For example :
When you setup QLauncher on your device at 1:00 am (UTC+8), sharing time will be 23hr, then your node will be qualified to claim basic income.
If you setup QLauncher on your device at 3:00 am (UTC+8), the sharing time will be 21hr, less than 22hr, then your device won’t be available to earn basic income.
Why my IPFS status it displayed stopping sometime ?
Restart QLauncher by the command sudo systemctl restart qlauncherand and check the status on QQQ app again after waiting for 20 to 30 minutes
What is the reason for limiting accounts to 5 mining devices?
In this testnet, we aim to let more people participate rather than letting a few miners operate multiple nodes. In order to improve the decentralized network, a diverse environment and more feedback are needed.
What caused my daily income to decrease ?
Every day Testnet’s basic income is guaranteed if your device is running the QLauncher properly. However, the contribution income is not guaranteed, as it is determined by demand. click for further detail
Is there any compensation I will receive when system occur issues ?
Unfortunately, we cannot promise compensation. There is still much to be improved in our decentralized network. As an alternative, we can reward any QQQ miner who helps us improve the network by reporting an issue.
Who will be renting our storage space ?
We provide low-cost storage solutions / services to several institutions. Most of them are currently running on official nodes.

Why can one public IP address only be used for one mining device in QQQ testnet mining?
As we are allocating all mining device resources to build services, a conflict in resource allocation will occur if one IP address is used by more than one device.
If I just upgrade my hardware, how long it will be updated ?
After updating the hard disk and memory, QLauncher must be reinstalled. You can reinstall QLauncher and update the device status with the network by following the QLauncher installed guide.
Does container_alive = “false” affect my daily income?
Our network infrastructure only uses this data segment in older versions. We changed the way we built our infrastructure, therefore it is normal that QLauncher status shows container_alive = false,and this will not affect your mining income.
