Mining Program Bi-weekly Update #3 (2021/8/1~8/15)
Testnet has now been running for seven weeks, and the growth of network resources has slowed in the past two weeks. During that period, QLauncher also adjusted twice to prepare for allowing more mining devices. Since the official node was maintained in the first week of August, the renting out of storage was reduced slightly.

QLauncher Optimization
We temporarily stopped new miners joining in August due to rapid growth of mining devices. When we adjusted the structure and performance of QLauncher, we quickly reopened it to join in August 4.
In the meantime, the official node has also carried out a clean-up to remove old and useless backups. Consequently, the overall utilization of network resources is declining, but allocation of network resources remains normal due to a decline in the renting out of storage of official nodes.
🌐・Network resource
As Posedion’s main node is undergoing adjustments, usage of renting out storage in the past two weeks has decreased, and aggregated resource has not grown as much as it did in July.
In the Mining Explorer snapshot of 12:00 16th August, there are 375 mining devices within the network, 85 more than 16 days ago, or a 29.3% increase; the number of miners has increased by 22 (16.4%) as well.
There’s still a growth in aggregated resources, such as the number of files stored, and the mining devices, but the growth has slowed. Total shared storage has grown by 1.8% to 545 TB across 375 devices from 17 countries.

Discord server growth — Discord member : 468 (+120) , +34%
Discord community continues to grow. According to the latest statistics, there were 468 on August 16th, an increase of 120 compared to August 1st, which is 34% more.
Discord Miner Community
Some members actively participate in promotion and sharing tasks. We will create more rewards to encourage this group of active members, such as special prizes or lottery.

Rill was a miner and an early member of the community. The Indonesian community Poseidon was founded and operated by him. In his role as Discord moderator, he assisted many new miners to set up nodes, and he wrote an install script for QLauncher to automate the process.
