Testnet has now been running for ninth weeks, and the growth of network resources and miners has slowed in the past two weeks. We did adjust the infra to optimize the distribution of files to allow new node could join this network. Due to the invention contest, the number of discord has grown significantly. In one week, Discord gained 208 members (+44%), the fastest growth since the community began.

QLauncher Optimization

Some users have reported that mining income has not increased since mid-August, and our developers are optimizing the process. Recent declines in file uploads, backups, and distribution of files. Consequently, revenue growth will slow down for most nodes compared to the previous period.

The previous bi-weekly update mentioned that in early August, our official node sorted out old, useless files. Currently, new nodes are being added to aggregate more available resources. As a result, the data of renting out storage space has declined, the overall resource utilization rate has also declined, but the allocation of network resources stay normal.

As posedion’s main node is undergoing adjustments, usage of renting out storage in the past two weeks has decreased, and aggregated resource has not grown as much as it did in July.

In the Mining Explorer snapshot of Aug. 31, there are 379 mining devices within the network, 4 more than 16 days ago, or a 1% increase; the number of miners has increased by 7 (4.5%) as well.

There’s still a growth in aggregated resources, such as the number of files stored, and the mining devices, but the growth has slowed. Total shared storage has grown by 1.8% to 545 TB across 375 devices from 17 countries.

Discord server growth — Discord member : 677 (+209) , +44%

Discord community continues to grow. According to the latest statistics, there were 677 on August 31, an increase of 209 compared to August 16, which is 44% more.

Campaign — Invitation Contest

We launched the Invitation Contest activity on August 25 in the Discord community. In five days, the number of people in the community grew from 469 to 677, increasing by 208 people. What a huge growth! We appreciate all your participation.

Prizes can be awarded to the top three inviters. Afiq invited 67 new users to join the community. A Poseidon Hoodie souvenir and 2000 QQQ will be given to him.

Rill was a miner and an early member of the community. The Indonesian community Poseidon was founded and operated by him. In his role as Discord moderator, he assisted many new miners to set up nodes. He invited 54 new members via Twitter, Facebook, and other channels within five days of the invitation contest.
