Many people have a completely misrepresented idea of what Christianity is like and do not see how it really should be. Of course, world history supports this and causes these misconceptions to proliferate in such a way that they overshadow the true meaning that Christ Himself taught.

That said, it's important to know that director Darren Aronofsky is a former practitioner of Judaism, now an atheist. I am a Christian, but unlike many other Christians, I like to see different views from what I know and believe. It does not mean that I share or agree with these other ways of point of view but like to learn and understand the world around me.

I believe that it generates empathy and a better understanding of the world we are in. The film can be extremely offensive to some people who do not like to see its sacred symbols seen in a different and critically strange way.

The text below is a hybrid between my interpretations based on my experience with the film, many readings, podcasts, vlogs, and those of Bruno Guedão, a great friend of mine, who gave a solid and easy-to-understand summary on his Facebook profile page.

If you haven't seen the movie, I recommend you to not…
