Post Growth Ripples: February 2022
Here at the Post Growth Institute, we collaboratively develop ideas, programs, events, and alliances that promote the equitable circulation of money, power, and resources in our local communities and global economy. Each month we publish an overview of our key activities and impact through the various pillars of our work.
This month, Post Growth Fellow, Shrishtee Bajpai, shared inspiring stories of resilience, existence, and re-existence from the Global Tapestry of Alternatives.

And, we’re excited to launch the next round of our Offers and Needs Market (OANM) Facilitator Training, starting on March 1st for five weeks on Tuesdays at 10am to 12pm Pacific Time. The OANM is one of the most effective methods for revealing local wealth, rapidly deepening connections, and regenerating economies. In the two-hour guided process, community members meet to identify and exchange their passions, knowledge, skills, resources, opportunities, and needs. It’s a powerful yet simple way to to shift the narrative around community resources, creating a culture of trust, empathy, and connection. The five-week course teaches you how to plan, promote, and run the Offers and Needs Market starts on March 1st, and scholarships are available.

We also provided not-for-profit consultancy for Joel Zaslofsky on co-founding, revenue models and lean testing for his Street Neighboring project. Joel shared some powerful feedback on his experience:
Donnie completely reoriented my fledgling project with a deft combination of insight, challenge, and deep questions. He pointed out things like a paradox between me wanting to build social trust, but being unwilling to trust a set of co-founders who ostensibly don’t have the ABCD experience or mindset that I do. Within a day of speaking with Donnie, I changed my approach to collaboration and allowed myself to release control on a dream that was never mine to try and control in the first place.
