Standing with Pledge 1% as We Celebrate 3k+ Hours of Volunteering in 2018!

On this #GivingTuesday, Postmates is proud to announce that employees nationwide have given back over 3,000 hours of their time to their local communities through our volunteer program in 2018 alone. As part of our celebration of this milestone, we are excited to join the Pledge 1% team and other members ringing the opening bell at NASDAQ today.

Pledge 1% encourages and supports companies of all sizes to give back through time, product, profit, and/or equity. Since it’s inception four years ago, the program has seen a 150% increase in membership annually. Companies from over 100 countries have joined the Pledge 1% movement, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to stand alongside this incredible team in support of all companies pledging to give back to their communities in unique ways that suit their businesses.

Not only does Postmates stand for giving back to the community because it’s the right thing to do, we encourage other companies to realize that it’s good for business. Today’s workforce values working for companies that have a strong mission, values, and commitment to giving.

Through our work on giving back, we have created real world solutions to problems like food waste and food security. Through FoodFight! — our tool that empowers restaurants we partner with to redistribute food waste to local shelters, we empower our partners to give back while we simultaneously strengthening the relationship we all have with our local communities.
