On what turned out to be the hottest day of 2015 — that’s right, New York City and San Francisco saw highs of 93 and 86, respectively — yesterday Postmates joined thousands of people across the country in celebrating National Ice Cream Day.

We challenged our customers to a Flavor Faceoff: order your favorite pint over the weekend, and we’ll determine which flavor reigns supreme based on the most ordered ‘scream. Over the course of two days, we delivered 1 pint of ice cream every 18 seconds!

Accounting for 60% of the orders from Los Angeles to Boston and everywhere in between, these chocolate chip-themed flavors were the most popular by far….

….but in true showdown style, only one flavor can rule them all. It was an extremely close race between the cookies (dough and cream), but cookie dough came out on top by 1 percentage point. Here’s the full breakdown:

While our East Coast ice cream connoisseurs tipped the scale on cookie dough, customers on the West Coast were bullish on Oreo. San Francisco, Seattle and Los Angeles accounted for 32% of all Cookies & Cream deliveries. And it probably surprises no one that our friends in Colorado had the highest percentage of late-night ice cream orders. That’s right, 50% of Denver’s ice cream was requested after 8pm ;)

It was a busy weekend indeed, but ice cream deliveries across the nation averaged 12 minutes from pickup to dropoff. With Postmates that fast, you’re guaranteed ‘scream faster than it can melt. Our customers seemed pleased with the results:
