End of Financial Year Party
The 2020/21 financial year marked an exciting period for Power Ledger. Looking back at past events is paramount for future growth. July 9th marked Power Ledger’s End of Financial Year Party where colleagues shared the future vision with the executive team. We are now delighted to share with you some of the insights from the evening.
2021 Strategy
Inspiring words from co-founders, Dr. Jemma Green and John Bulich highlighted the growth experienced by Power Ledger and referenced recent projects such as the VB Solar Exchange program, with Carlton and United Breweries, and the rollout of a P2P solar trading platform with Tata Power-DDL.
The focal point for the night was on the future and what Power Ledger will be concentrating on in the coming year. With Power Ledger transitioning to a Solana-based blockchain allowing 50,000 transactions per second and staking capabilities, scalability was among the major topics for the company. Jemma pointed out that this transition gave Power Ledger the capacity necessary for larger projects with more demanding requirements.
Chief Operating Officer Tim Bray and Global Head of Business Development and Partnerships Vinod Tiwari gave an exciting rundown on key metrics for the year, evaluating where Power Ledger can improve on and targets that were surpassed.
Vinod emphasized Power Ledger’s additional focus in the coming financial year of developing strong relationships with key partners and expanding our focus with our EU and US teams. Furthermore, Vinod noted initiating constructive and exciting conversations within the energy and blockchain industry is crucial for the constant adoption of renewables and Power Ledger blockchain technology.
Welcoming new staff
Many new faces joined Power Ledger this financial year, making an exciting mix of experience and personalities. The evening was a great opportunity for team members to converse and get to know one another, making connections and furthering Power Ledger’s fantastic company culture. Celebrations invoked stimulating conversation between colleagues, discussing the potential Power Ledger technology has in revolutionizing the renewable energy industry.
New analysts, engineers, and marketing interns joined the celebrations, sharing experiences about their first couple of weeks within the organization and how excited they are to contribute towards creating efficient and sustainable energy markets. Interns had the opportunity to learn about the different Power Ledger offerings and speak with several teams to understand the company's inner workings. The End of Financial Year Party also allowed colleagues to catch up and explore what other teams are working on, it also encouraged cross-collaboration and allowed the team to align on Power Ledger’s overarching goals.
In conclusion, the 2020/21 financial year was an exciting period for Power Ledger and we look forward to the future ahead with great hope and pride.
