Power Ledger at the Austrade’s UK — Australia Joint Energy Workshop
New assets, new services, new risks and most importantly new requirements from customers are all shaping a very different set of opportunities and challenges for the energy sector.
Achieving transformation to a clean, secure and affordable energy system requires integrating and optimizing solutions and innovations in a rapidly changing environment, and consideration of physical, digital and markets — a whole systems approach.
Without due consideration of all factors, innovation opportunities will be lost, the transformation likely to be excessively costly, uncoordinated and face security and stability concerns.
The shared learning we can gain from addressing these challenges in the different country contexts will be invaluable to policymakers and innovators, especially in the lead up to COP26, taking place in Glasgow in November.
On May 25th, industry leaders from the UK and Australia gathered together at this Energy Workshop hosted by the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) to discuss these challenges faced by energy networks in both countries and explore how collaborative work could support both countries in their transition to smart energy systems, and ultimately on the path to Net Zero.
“The software that the IT and the digitization of the grid offers those solutions is absolutely making the energy cheaper and cleaner for the consumers, but also improving the resiliency of the energy system through services back to the grid.”
Power Ledger’s Global Head of Business Development and Partnerships Vinod Tiwari shares his insights on how the current energy markets in the UK and Australia are responding to innovative solutions and how Power Ledger is playing a role in such energy system revolutions.
