One day while I was working an everyday regular job, I was asked to sweep the sidewalk in front of the building next to the street. As I swept I began to daydream.
As I swept my thoughts, as they often do, drifted off to ideal moments of a future reality for myself. I thought about a reality I had yet to attain.
Certainly, there was the typical house for my family, cars that ran well, and money invested; but along with that was the dream of self-made entrepreneurship.
You may be like me or you may be happy working a decent job with a good paycheck and 401-K. Most of us are not just satisfied with simply working a job, nor do we want to launch our own company. Most of us fall somewhere in the middle between a decent job and entrepreneurship.
Why is that? This is because we are typically workers, managers, and entrepreneurs all at once. We are somewhat good at all three of these things simultaneously. This is what makes us good at our job. This is what makes us successful.
I have heard people throw around the term intrapreneurs. That term rings true. We build but with rails. We take risks but with other people’s money. We grow and let someone else deal with the fallout or possible bankruptcy.
