In Canadian wrestling, Hart is the first name that comes to many fans. The Hart family is legendary in professional wrestling. Beginning with patriarch Stu Hart, the Harts ran Stampede Wrestling out of Calgary, Alberta, for decades. As if their destiny was already written, his sons followed him into the business with varying levels of success. His daughters would marry wrestlers, and several third generations would try their hands at the family tradition.

Of the sons of Stu and Helen Hart, the most well-known and successful was Bret “Hitman” Hart. A multi-time champion in Stampede, WWF(E), and WCW, his legacy as a Hall of Fame wrestler is well deserved. Close behind Bret was the baby of the family, Owen. Some even consider Owen the more talented of the two and deserve his place in the WWE Hall of Fame. As we shall see, there is a tragic reason that he may never take his place next to his brother in that fraternity.
