A charity crowdfunding platform that turns your idle CPU power into fuel for important ideas and causes.

We are happy to introduce earth’s first mutually beneficial crowdfunding platform, where charity crowdfunding meets browser-based mining for cryptocurrencies. We call this process fundmining.

Here, we offer a small introduction to our project. You can find out more details at www.fire.powershare.fund!

Most of you are probably familiar with traditional donation-based crowdfunding models which is the collective effort of individuals to help charitable causes. The largest and most popular traditional charity crowdfunding platforms is GoFundMe, which has collected over 9 billion USD since its origin.

Our platform will be doing the same thing, but instead of donating money, you’re donating unused CPU power and this is how we do it.

Our prototype has been running on CoinHive since February, you can try it out on www.powershare.fund. CoinHive is a very well-known mining service, which you can integrate on any web-site and it uses your CPU power to mine Monero (XMR). But since the profitability of mining Monero is very low and since CoinHive takes 30% of mined coins as a fee, it does not leave you with much.

That is why we need to build our own blockchain platform which will have its own cryptocurrency — FIRE. Aside from the Whitepaper, we are working on developing incentive-based tokenomics that will ensure FIRE’s stability and the growth and security of the network, but more on that later.

FIRE will be mined with your ordinary laptops and Desktops, we are also planning on working on mobile mining but it is outside of the scope for now. You will have three categories to choose from, as shown in the demo version — ‘Seed a business’, ‘Change Lives’, and ‘Save the Planet’, so technically almost every type of campaign can get listed, and just by clicking ‘start mining’ (Yes, as simple as that!) the program will activate and start making money with your computer’s CPU. The good thing is that you as a backer are in full control, you can easily set the percentage of CPU you are willing to donate, by just clicking the “+” and “-“ buttons , we recommend to use no more than 30 %, so that your computer continues to run smoothly. And all you need to do to continue donating is to leave the browser tab open.

To incentivize miners to fund campaigns and for that matter, the ones that are truly important and valuable, we introduce a soft cap and a hard cap for each campaign. A soft cap would be the amount requested by the campaign, where a hard cap is twice that much. That way, when your chosen campaign reaches the hard cap, FIRE generated during the process will be split in half, the campaign receives the required amount and the other half is split amongst all backers based on their generosity! The algorithm that will distribute FIRE among backers will be introduced in the later versions of the Whitepapaer. With this easy-to-use mechanism, you can sit at home, scroll through various campaigns that need your help, choose the one you like, and get rewards for it!
