To automatically update CRM data I have been using PowrBot. It is a powerful data crawler that integrates with Salesforce, Hubspot, Google Sheets, Office 365 and 1,000 other web apps through Zapier. Although a relatively new entrant into space, PowrBot is quickly gaining momentum. 5,360+ clients have performed upwards of 11,680,000 searches, and it is easy to see why. PowrBot automates repetitive tasks such as data entry and qualifying leads.

With some tweaking, PowrBot can be configured to update and automate CRM data and other parts of the workflow.

PowrBot is completely free for the first 200 searches/month. It automates gathering company data, which saves time, money and frees you up to work on something that’s worthy of a human’s time and ingenuity.

How To Integrate PowrBot into your Existing CRM with Zapier?

Zapier is a code-free solution that can integrate PowrBot with apps in your existing workflow. With Zapier there is no need to spend more money on getting developers to build another integration. Anyone can create PowrBot workflows with Zapier and all it takes is just a few clicks.

If you are manually entering leads into a CRM, like Salesforce or Hubspot CRM, or outsourcing data entry tasks there is a fair chance that a Zapier integration can streamline these processes and save you time and money.

How to Automate Custom Content for MailChimp Subscribers

Want to know more about who has just subscribed to your mailing list? A MailChimp integration will automatically collect company data about your new subscribers. Then it’s possible to update MailChimp profiles and include some of the information that has been gathered and send a more personalized email.

You need to set up a MailChimp email template that knows how to do all this, but with a bit of tweaking and some conditional merge tag statements, it is possible to display different content based on the information that PowrBot collected.

Automating a CRM Workflow with PowrBot

You can put PowrBot in the centre of a cyclic automated process. When a new lead subscribes to your mailing list, PowrBot can update a Google Sheet which in turn will trigger a Zapier event that will create a new lead or customer in your CRM compete with extensive information drawn from PowrBot’s vast online database library.

What Company Data Can PowrBot Collect to automate your CRM?

PowrBot only collects publicly available information. It doesn’t do anything that you couldn’t hypothetically do yourself. The advantage of using PowrBot is that it knocks over hours of labour intensive work in less than a minute.

PowrBot will return the following information on a company:

Assets
Number of employees
Name
Services
ISIN
Date Founded
Formally Called
Revenue
Founders
Net Income
Website
Industry
Locations
Divisions
Products
A Snippet
Area Services
Subsidiaries
Total Equity
Traded As
Headquarters
Key people
Operating Income

To populate a CRM with twenty companies, at that level of detail, will take a whole day at least. With the Basic version of PowrBot, you get 200 free searches a month, and still, have API access and the ability to integrate PowrBot with your existing CRM using Zapier.

How To Automate CRM Reports With PowrBot

So far we have only covered putting data into a CRM using PowrBot and a Zapier integration. You may or may not be aware, but Salesforce and Hubspot reports can be exported as a .csv file. Coincidentally, all PowrBot needs to get started collecting company data is a .csv file. Utilising this allows for further automation in the workflow. You can feed spreadsheets into your CRM that are already populated with company data and then hand off data collection and entry tasks to PowrBot directly from the CRM.

Salesforce reports can display opportunities, cases, accounts, as well as data from custom apps. It is even possible to merge reports and put them side by side for comparison. While these are all fantastic CRM features, PowrBot won’t understand this data. You need to keep things simple and only export a spreadsheet with a single column of data containing company names.
