Chris Rock is promoting his movie (Top Five) and Steve Buscemi asks Rock about the edit room and if he uses focus groups. Rock responds that he’s kind of forced to use focus groups (I assume by the studio) but then he busts out with the gem above within this interaction:

Rock:
They’re all suggestions… I always say hear everything, listen to nothing.

Buscemi:
You choose what you listen to…

Rock:
Hear it all. Don’t stop the flow of information.

Bar Guest:
Take what you need and leave the rest.

Rock:
And choose what you act on, yes.
