We are living in societies that grow more narcissistic by the day. That’s especially true in America, where the rate of narcissistic personality disorder has hit a stunning stride in recent years. Whether that’s thanks more to the social media age, or the hyper-individualistic conditioning of American society — we are each being pushed closer and closer to the edge of behaviors that are destroying our lives and our world.
The narcissistic traits that should bother you (in yourself).
The hard to accept truth is that many of us have narcissistic tendencies and narcissistic behaviors. Many come to that on the back of endless trauma, while others find it from a natural desire to protect themselves and their wellbeing. Some of us confront that darkness in ourselves and heal accordingly, but others never do. For some, it becomes a way of life and they do take a second look before falling over the cliff right into headlong narcissism.
