Living Your Life Solely For Others Is Always a Waste of Time

True life is lived when we remember to live it for ourselves too.

We’ve been sold this incredibly toxic idea of what the perfect or “moral” life looks like. Told that we have to build monolithic families over lives we can’t even fathom, we are pressured always to put others before ourselves. While it may be noble to care for others as you care for yourself, sacrificing is akin to self-sabotage when you leave nothing left for you. That’s because you can’t be fully there for yourself when you’re solely there for everyone else. You deserve as much of your time, focus, affection, and effort as anyone else in this world.

Living life for others is a waste of time.

When you live your life for others, you end up wasting your time and you’re wasting your life. You can’t root your joy in the life of someone else. Because eventually their path will deviate from your own. Stable happiness comes when we learn to root it in ourselves and our own experiences. Anything else sells us out and sells us short in the worst possible ways.

Zero full appreciation
