The Growth Digest

Taking your personal growth journey to the next level with the best stories from E.B. Johnson.

There’s a lot going on beneath the hood at Practical Growth this week. On this side of things, you can expect articles on dating, social media, and relationship boundaries. There’s even going to be a little reality check. Is your relationship built on convenience over love? Ignoring the signs can spell disaster for your happiness.

The Practical Growth Podcast is really where it’s all happening this week, though. This week’s episode is going to explore the ins-and-outs of modern dating, and the new growing trend of slow dating. Is slow dating the perfect way to meet the partner of your dreams? Experts and dating apps like Hinge certainly seem to think so.

But the really important thing to remember about this week is that coaching applications for my signature 8-week program close FRIDAY, October 22nd @ 11:59PM (EST). If you’re ready to turn your life around for the better before 2022, then make sure you apply for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be coached by me.

As always, thank you for your continued support. None of this would be possible without my readers, and this is all really a reflection of my desire to help you improve your life and your relationships. Got a question for me? A topic you’d like to explore? Get in touch with me here.

Creating an Antifragile Mindset

One of the greatest gifts we can give yourself in this life is the gift of an antifragile mind. More than being resilient, the antifragile mind is flexible and able to grow and thrive under any circumstances. Someone with this mindset can overcome and become better, even when they find themselves in places that other people would sink. Tragedy, upset, heartbreak, disappointment, rage. All of these things are inevitable in life, and the antifragile mind helps us to navigate them and find ourselves, regardless…

Navigating the Midlife Pivot

There’s no escaping that midlife crush. We all have that moment when we look around and ask ourselves, “What am I doing?” We have a sudden realization that time is not on our side, and that we’re simultaneously not getting everything that we want. That’s how we end up pivoting and changing directions — even when we’ve built something stable and valuable for ourselves. It’s never too late to get the life (and relationships) that you want. Feeling unfulfilled? Unsatisfied with where you’re at? Consider a midlife pivot to bring about the change you’re craving…

Open Doors, Closed Doors

Our lives are a series of opportunities and experiences constantly in collision with one another. When one “door” closes — be that a relationship, a career, or just opportunity in general — another one opens. Sometimes that door is forced open by us, wedged wide by our own shifts in perception. Because the truth is, there is always another opportunity waiting for us around the corner. It may not be the one we expect, or even the one we want, but there is always a chance to improve ourselves and our lives when we choose to see it…

A Few More of Your Favorites

  • Dating can be such a nerve-wracking process. Meeting someone new is scary, especially when you have a warped perspective on connection and mutual attraction. If you want to boost your chances of getting it right when you meet a new love interest, then these are the dating behaviors you have to avoid at all costs.
  • Are you and your partner struggling to connect on a sexual level? Maybe they are always turning you down, or always making excuses to avoid intimate moments. While they may be hard to hear, there are some very real reasons behind your partner’s lack of sex drive. Acknowledging them is the only way get back on track and back in the right place.
  • Is your relationship toxic? Damaging? Abusive? The signs aren’t always as obvious as we think they are. Be honest with yourself. Are you getting what you want? Or are you falling prey to toxic power dynamics that are setting you back and keeping you small? Admit the truth so you can protect yourself and your wellbeing.

Last Call for Private Coaching Clients

The final spots for my 8-week private coaching program are closing this week. This is your last chance to apply for an opportunity to change your life (and the way you approach relationships). Working directly with me, you’ll reconfigure your relationships needs and learn to communicate those needs both with yourself and the world.

This is the perfect program for you if:

  • ✅ You’re tired of toxic people and are ready to stop attracting them.
  • ✅ You put everyone’s needs over your own and it’s burned you out.
  • ✅ You have complicated family dynamics that most people don’t understand.
  • ✅ You want a genuine, caring, and honest relationship.
  • ✅ You’re sick and tired of settling for less in life and love.

This program is not for you if:

  • ❎ You’re not sick and tired of your own nonsense.
  • ❎ You’re not ready too make serious change in your life.
  • ❎ You aren’t ready to give and receive radical honesty.
  • ❎ You aren’t 100% committed to creating the life (and relationships) you crave.
  • ❎ You are seeking treatment for an ongoing mental health crisis.

By helping you build a better relationship with self, you will be empowered to set boundaries, stand up for your needs, and create new behavioral patterns that are more aligned. Pursuing happiness is a great thing, but we waste a lot of time when we don’t have the skills to act in the name of our needs and beliefs.

This is the last time I will offer this program in 2021. If you’re interested in getting involved, then you can fill out an application here.
