Relationships are complex and, when they run into problems, the solutions we find for them can also be complex too.Troubled relationships are nothing new, but that does not mean fixing them feels any easier or more pleasant. Getting Unstuck in Life and Relationships

Photo by Amadeo Valar on Unsplash

If you’re stuck in a rut, it can feel as though you’re suspended in time; forever looking outward at the lives that others are leading. This feeling is paralyzing and terrifying, causing us to collapse inward on our insecurities and further dig ourselves in to a place we don’t belong. You can find your way back to happiness and out of the rut you’re in, but it takes commitment, courage and an applied sense of self-compassion and self-discovery. How You’re Really Going to Improve Your Life

Everywhere you look, you’ll find a life coach or a self-help guru that has a personal promise of guaranteed happiness. More often than not, when you look beneath the surface of these techniques — they’re little more than get-rich-quick schemes masked beneath toxic positivity. A Few More of Your Favorites…

  • Your anxiety is changing the way you make decisions. Unless you want to stay in these aggravating and uncomfortable loops, find a better way for yourself. Once you understand your anxiety, you can change the way you work and live with it.
  • Intimate bonding is key when we’re looking to establish a strong relationship (or reinforce an already-established relationship). When we share our goals, let one another in on our day and our lives, or just do little thoughtful things for one another — we can transform our partnerships. The more we learn about intimate bonding, the better off we are.
  • Is your inner critic ripping your apart? Don’t let this nagging voice in side of you get in the way. You are worthy of the happiness that you desire, but you’re going to have to believe in that happiness and manifest it through action every single day. Silence your inner critic. This is how you can get there.

A Word of Advice

Need help or advice when it comes to love, dating, friends, family — or anything in-between? You can ask me a question anonymously for a chance to have it featured on Medium and in my monthly newsletter. Have a question you want to ask me? Check out my Quora community.

Q. Do all people talk about others behind their back at some point? (via Interesting Psychology)

A. Essentially, yes. But what matters is the intention. Not everyone talks badly about people behind their backs with bad intentions. Sometimes, it’s curiosity or concern that causes them to speak up and say things they later regret. It’s important to identify that intention in dealing with others, because it tells us a lot about who they really are.

Happy relationships aren’t a myth. They’re built by people who use tools like this book to improve themselves and their partnerships from the inside out.
