As my coaching practice continues to expand (into podcasts, live appearances, and so much more) I notice more and more of the coaching hangups that people have. Not only do many people not truly understand what coaching is, but they also struggle to understand how their coaches can realistically help them. So, in order to help you avoid some of these mistakes, I’ve decided to outline the most common hangups and the best ways to avoid them in your own coaching experiences moving forward.

What you’re getting wrong about coaching.

Even the most determined, and experienced clients still get a lot wrong when it comes to coaching. Looking for some type of magical fix-all, they expect us to provide them with a happy pill. They want us to do all the work for them, and they very rarely understand the genuine commitment of what must come from them. Although you may pay your coach to help you, we can’t do the heavy lifting for you. We’re here for accountability and to shine a light on your healing path. We can’t do the dirty work for you (nor should we).

It’s not a fix-all
