We all have toxic traits. It’s not something that we like to hear, but it’s true. We live in a tough and complex world. As we get battered and beat up by its difficulties, we each develop our own coping mechanisms. Some of those are more toxic than others. We can create narcissistic perceptions of self. We lean into a victim mentality and form insecure attachment patterns. There are many toxic behaviors that we adopt in an effort to survive. But if we’re serious about being happy in life and in love, we have to let them go and embrace something different.

What are the toxic behaviors you have adopted in order to protect yourself from your fears and your pain? Have you become judgmental and hard? Do you lash out? Crave attention? Or have a total lack of respect for everyone — including yourself? You will not get what you want if you keep holding on to these poisonous ways of being.
