Islam came to elevate us

I know you’ve got so many ideas. Ideas to improve the products you use everyday or invent new one. Ideas to support your community. Ideas to create a more harmonious world. Society will tell you, you’re just one person and these challenges are too hard or too complex to solve. That others smarter than you have already tried.

However, Islam came to tell us something different.

Imagine the first Muslims many of whom were poor, had lessor tribal status, and were women. Those early believers went on to change the world with the understanding of the Truth- they were Divine Representatives of God.

The message of Islam is not to take care of yourself and avoid problems. The dictate of Islam is to change the world for the better. The only way we’ll have the audacity to attempt that is when we change our view of ourselves. When we see ourselves as Allah sees us. Not as meek, oppressed servants, but powerful agents representing The Almighty.

What makes the journey and work of shedding our learned limited ways of seeing ourselves easier- is meeting those who are striving to do the same.
