Imagine if you could peek into the brain of a creator with 53.5 billion views and 300+ million YouTube subscribers.

Everyone talks about MrBeast. So I had to know what made him so special. I had to know his secret.

So I spent 53 hours to get his secrets for you. I want to save you hours of research.

Let me show you the 3 powerful tactics of MrBeast that will make your Medium posts go viral.

Always remember you’re not irreplaceable

Many writers have an ego as big as an elephant.

They think they’re this special creator. They refuse corrections. They believe the world should leave all they have to do just to read their latest Medium post.

They want everyone to notice them but they don’t put in the work.

Worst of all, they confuse themselves into thinking they’re the best.

This isn’t the mindset of MrBeast. MrBeast has been posting on YouTube since 2012. That’s 12 years. But he didn’t go viral until after 5 years in 2017.

And I’m sure he spent those years learning and refining his strategy. So when he finally went viral, it wasn’t a surprise.

You have to humble yourself to practice and learn daily.

Even as a newbie football player, the mindset of learning and putting in my best effort in every practice has improved me beyond my wildest dreams. Now, I get put on special teams like kickoff. I get MVPs because my tackles are wild.

And best of all, my teammates now call me, “Black Thunder.”

The same mindset has worked for me writing my newsletters.

You must let go of your ego if you want your Medium posts to go viral.

Start with a bang

Create curiosity ASAP.

Hook your readers with your headline. Stop them in their tracks and make them want to click on your newsletter.

If you’ve seen one of MrBeast’s videos, you’ll know what I mean. His headlines are so good to the point of clickbait.

What he does:

  • He uses bold statements, like 50 YouTubers Fight For $1,000,000.
  • And his thumbnail images are so engaging.
  • He uses shocking facts in his headlines.

You either go big on your headline and post’s picture or go home.

Reveal things quickly

Our attention spans are reducing fast.

No one wants their feeds full of posts written in science journal formatted crap.

In fact, no one wants to wait 18 minutes to learn something you can tell them in one.

We’re busy. We have our problems. We have tasks to fulfill. We have jobs. We’re students.

This point is a reflection of me. I don’t always have 30 minutes to sit down and read a newsletter. But I can spare 5 minutes to understand what you have to say.

That’s why you must reveal your idea quickly and stop beating around the bush.

That’s the same with MrBeast.

I’m sure it takes hours even days to make his videos. But no one has the time to sit down and watch a 5-hour video. So he edits out the fluff, makes his videos concise and reveals the idea of the video quickly.

Most of his videos are between 10–30 minutes long. And it’s no wonder why they’re so fun to watch.

What you can do is:

  • Reduce your intro paragraph.
  • Edit your sentences and make them concise.

Optimize for shortening attention spans.

Conclusion

MrBeast is a successful creator.

And there’s so much we can learn from him whether you like him or not.

So use his tactics to your advantage to make your Medium posts go viral.
