I just crossed 500 followers on Medium.

It took me almost 8 months to reach here, which is way more than I had initially anticipated.

Here are a few Medium lessons that I’ve learned from my journey:

1. Short intros are underrated

Have you seen vlogs on YouTube titled: “I proposed, she said yes!”

It's so enticing to click on them. Isnt it?

But sometimes they become annoying because 90% of the video has nothing to do with the proposal.

For example, I once saw a proposal vlog on YouTube that was for 10 minutes, but the proposal bit was only for the last 30 seconds. The rest of the time the guy was just talking about his day, what he did, him skateboarding, and all kinds of things that were unrelated to the title.

I was so annoyed that I skipped the entire video.

My point is, that no one likes someone beating around the bush.

You need to get to the point as fast as possible.

That's where a short intro comes in place.
