If you work full-time and have ambitions of creating on the side you need tactical habits that you can implement with ease.

It’s all well and good talking about business strategy and optimization but how do you actually get started when you’re starting from scratch?

Well, here are 9 habits that I’d start with if I were going back to the beginning — let’s dive in.

1. The 2–3 point to-do list

It’s tempting to pile your to-do list sky-high.

I used to do this all the time. It was a habit that made me feel good in the moment but terrible at the end of the day. The list was so big it would overwhelm me and send me into procrastination.

Instead, you are better off writing down 2–3 things you absolutely must get done today and get them done. Then get in a habit of doing the things you said you would.

But they need to be ‘doable’ tasks.

2. Make your list ‘doable’
