If there’s one thing I try to optimize for, especially these days, it’s sustainability.

I see people all over the internet wanting to build something online but feel overwhelmed by the amount to do. By the sheer size of the mountain to climb.

I remember vividly getting home after a long day working, reading stories and watching videos of the people that had made it. I’d sit back in awe. I wanted to be them, I just didn’t know how.

I felt a real pain. A frustration. A resentment.

But years later, things have slotted into place. And the secret? Or at least one of them is to optimize sustainability. It’s the acceptance that there’s a long road ahead, and sprinting will only tire you out.

Here’s how you optimize for sustainable, long-term growth (and enjoy yourself along the way).

Step 1: Identify your golden hour

I’ve always been a fan of the mornings.

But I know creators that come alive at night time. For a little while I used to write on my lunch break. It doesn’t matter when it matters that you can consistently show up at that time.
