There are signs to know a profitable business.

Usually, we can look at people and tell a bit about their personality from their appearance. The same thing works with an online business.

Most online businesses have these features that hint towards a profitable online business.

When choosing an online business, most people usually look at is top people in that industry and then use them as an indicator to show that that business model is profitable.

The truth is every business model is profitable, every single business. From a startup, to an online business.

However some businesses aren’t designed to make you money in a small amount of time with minimum stress.

As a beginner starting, one thing you’d hate is a business that stresses you but then has no indication of profit.

Affiliate Marketing

I looked at so many online businesses starting. The most popular one I heard was affiliate marketing.

What I saw was simply sell a product and then you’ll get a commission.
Boy, it sounded so simple I almost fell for it.

When I eventually realized the commission versus the stress of selling one single product, I realized this wasn’t the kind of online business I wanted to start.

Here are a few indications of a profitable online business:

1. Unitary gain

Unitary gain is simply the amount of money you make per sale of your service or product.

Now whether the money you make is in income or commission, the amount of money you make per unit of your product can heavily determine if you’ll be profitable.

Imagine if you sold one product for $1,000 and another one for $300.

You wouldn’t need too many customers for the $1,000 product to be successful in the business.

2. Payment type

Ever heard of a subscription package? That’s what a recurring model is. And it’s one of two methods of making payments.

If a customer makes recurring payments for your product over let's say five months.

You’d make money from a single customer for 5 months without any extra cost of advertising.

If you had a one-time payment system on the other hand, it means you’d have to spend time and effort looking for another client within that period and therefore this will cut into your profits.

3. Delivery

One of the most interesting things about an online business is that you can avoid the overhead cost of delivery and send your product to your customer over the Internet.

However, certain online business models involve shipping and this may sound interesting at first but the cost of delivering a physical product may cut into your profits.

A truly profitable online business avoids the cost of delivery.

Conclusion
It's easy to make the wrong choice and just jump into an online business.

You may end up picking a model that isn't designed to make you as much money.

These three factors will be an indicator as to which business models will be quickly profitable.
