I Changed My Routine With These 2 Hacks.

I was blessed with a dream and cursed with laziness.

My problem:

I always wanted to do something with my passion for writing.

But I never acted because of my laziness. Last year I decided to act.

It’s been 8 months now.

  • I have been publishing content for 220 + days.
  • I created 4 e-books. I am creating one video course which will be published in the next few days.
  • I have made plenty of friends online all around the world.
  • I write almost every single day for 3 hours early in the morning.

So much change in just 6 months. All this because I changed my routine. Here is what I did.

How to Start?

Instead of deciding to focus on writing forever. I decided to write only for one year. If I wish to quit, then I can quit. But only a year after not before. This mindset shift led me to start taking actions and kept me going.

If you want to start something now, then decide to dedicate 6 months of your life for it. Irrespective of the outcome. No matter what, just try staying for those 6 months. That must be your ultimate goal.

If you don’t want to, that’s ok. Because those 6 months will eventually get wasted by doing nothing. Why not waste it by doing something?

How to stick with it?

Starting anything is easy. All you must do is act. But the trick lies in sticking with it. That’s where most people fail.

Once you decide to take 6 months of your life for your goal, all you must do is avoid whatever comes in between.

My secret to consistently writing lies in avoiding two things.

  1. Desires
  2. Uncertainties.

Desire

Watching sports, movies, series, mindlessly scrolling, etc. is what distracts you from your actions. You need to stop feeding it. The best way to get rid of it is to throw your mobile in a lake. If you can’t then try avoiding it.

Let’s say in a day you are taking action towards your goal for 2 hours each day, and if you are binge-watching for 1 hour, then eventually the 1 hour becomes 2,3,4 hours. And then it impacts the rest of the days. Days become months; months become years. And you will be drowning in inaction.

In the past 6 months, my desires have been the major cause of my inaction. So, I try to avoid my mobile as much as possible.

I know you can’t completely avoid it. But make sure you are spending way more time taking actions than your inactions. Because any one of them will eventually consume another.

Uncertainties

Uncertainty is the second major cause of inaction. Going for a party, going for a vacation, marriages, outings, etc., will disrupt your routine.

If one day of your routine is disrupted, eventually it will ask for more. 1 day will turn out to be multiple days. And then you tend to fall into desires, and you will drown again in inactions.

Have a good routine, where you can work towards your goal daily. I would recommend you start in the early morning. That’s the best routine for your goals and health. Once you set up your routine, try to preserve it at any cost.

Do it at least for the first 6 months. Trust me then things will become easy for you.
