If AI Took My Writing Job, These Are the 5 Job Boards I’d Use to Find a New One

“It actually happened — I’ve been replaced by AI.”

My neighbour was solemn as she shared the news with me. For years, she worked as an editor and could rely on the income in her (semi) retirement.

But not anymore. Not once OpenAI arrived on the scene. ChatGPT replaced her virtually overnight. And for a long time, I had a debilitating fear that it would do the same to me as a writer.

Alas, here I am one year (two years? Time flies…) after my client started incorporating AI into their workflow, and the writing team is busier than ever. Yes, how we work has changed, but the need for writers has not.

Unfortunately, not everyone at every workplace can say the same, and uncertainty abounds. According to the Marketing Data State of Play from Funnel, “64% of marketers feel AI will replace them in 5 years.” My neighbour isn’t the only person who has to make a career change thanks to the emergence of AI.

And job searching is no easy task. It can feel like a full-time job in and of itself. Luckily, I was able to help my neighbour at least get started with this daunting task by sharing my top job boards for remote writing, editing…
