If You Have A 9–5 Job, You Can Become Start A One-Person Biz Over The Weekend.
This is how I would do it.
I remember starting my first one-person business.
I was 26, and I remember feeling incredibly proud and excited. But after the honeymoon period wore off, I felt lost, anxious, and almost lost the business entirely.
If I could go back in time, I’d do this instead.
You already have a one-person business.
Congratulations.
That was easy, wasn’t it?
Your 9–5 job means you’ve got a valuable skillset.
And you’ve already sold it to one customer: Your employer.
But this is where you made a mistake.
You stopped selling it to others.
If one customer (your employer) is willing to pay you for your skills, others will too.
Especially if you’ve got skills in:
- Writing.
- Design.
- Coding.
Basically, any professional service (HR, Ops, Marketing) can be repackaged as a service for multiple customers.
