ONLY if you’re encountering a negative reaction.

“But you said!”

It doesn’t matter who said what.

We’re all different.

We understand and perceive information differently.

Even if it seems unambiguous.

Information only sounds unambiguous when stated by us, in our own heads.

The only important thing is:

  • Whether a person is ready to solve the problem NOW.

To overcome negativity,

Always focus on the present moment.

Stop. Take a deep breath. Pause.

Always ask yourself:

  • “Did the last heard/read phrase help solve the problem?”

If not, let your interlocutor know as soon as possible:

  • “This doesn’t solve the problem.”
  • “What’s the point in this discussion? Let’s solve the problem.”
  • “Sorry, I might have misspoken, let’s just look at this again, from the beginning.”
  • “Let’s cool down and come back to this later.”

Never expect to be understood correctly.

Never expect that what you’ve heard is the absolute and precise truth.

A person could have made a mistake in choosing words, or failed to express what they truly meant.

That’s normal.

Expectations are the root of all evils.
