My Simple Little Rituals to Handle Stress

Stress is required to become the highest version of yourself.

Whatever you do — it requires mental strength and willpower to get the task done. Right? And the more stress you can handle, the stronger you’ll become.

For example, you want to be a writer, you set a goal to write 4 days a week, and you’re getting the shit done.

What if you make you make it to 7 days a week: it’ll require you to go ‘ALL IN’. If you can do that, don’t you think? You’ll become better at your craft. And your ability to handle stress in other areas will increase.

That’s why I love working regardless of the level of difficulty. Because I know If I can do this shit, I can become more stronger and more wise.

Grind everyday

I work every day to handle the inner storm.

Because our mind needs consistent proof that we’re working on our goals. And if we’re able to succeed in proving our mind, the stress can be easily managed.

So, regardless of what I feel, I show up every day and grind. I prove to my inner storm that you can’t beat me. I’ve done the shit. And I’ll see you tomorrow. After numerous repetitions, I’ve developed the muscle to do what’s necessary regardless of what I’m going through.

Most people go for instant fixes — journaling, consultancy, and mindfulness. It can give you peace for a moment. But deep down — you’re afraid to go against your deepest fears and insecurities.

I’ve done the same rituals for a year, but I’ve never gotten better at writing. I invested 2 hours every morning — meditating, journaling, walking, writing goals. And when I sat to write, I didn’t have that much energy to get better at my craft.

Now, what do I do?

  • I get up
  • Brush my teeth
  • Have a coffee
  • And start writing

Instead of instant fixes, go for a long run, do things that you’re weak at, and make it an everyday process.

Look for the first win

Now, I’m comfortable getting up at 4:00 am.

But It doesn’t happen overnight. I’ve failed this challenge more than you think. And every time I was down, I cried for a while. But next movement, I was up, asking myself — What can I do now?

I’ve always looked for momentum whenever I face any setback.

For example, I failed to write this morning. I’ll overthink, but not for too long. After enjoying my pity party.

I’ll think straight:

What can I do now?

How can I stop the inner storm?

That is moving to the next productive work. It could be my college assignment, gym, reading a book, or talking to my loved one. By all means, I engage myself in something productive so that I can feel the wave of relief.

Once I taste the first win, I’ve built momentum and now I can work on the next thing.
