Freedom.

That’s one of the most oft-cited words when business owners are asked why they started their businesses.

I want freedom.

I want to turn my passion into a business.

In a study of business owners, Cox Business found nearly two-thirds of respondents said they had started their own business for one of those two reasons: Freedom or Passion.

What does freedom mean to you?

I can work when I want.

I can choose my clients.

I decide what I want to do and when.

I can make as much money as I want.

Funny thing about this newfound freedom, without self-imposed processes and systems, your freedom could also be your demise. Things like planning, scheduling, budgeting, and consistently taking the right actions. When you suddenly have all this freedom and no one to account to (your boss), before you know it, the quarter is over, and you’ve got squat to show for your time.
