Every time you talk to someone or the actions you take is revealing a little something about your past experiences and how this has shaped you as a person.

We’ve all experience sh*t in life, maybe you are going through a difficult time right now. We can use these sh*tty experiences as fertilizer to grow us or sometimes we might get buried in it.

Experiences can shape our perceptions and even dictate how we treat others. Take for example someone that was treated badly in a relationship.

They may go one of two ways…

  1. Treat others the same way they have been treated. This is almost like an unhelpful defense mechanism. “I was treated badly, so I will do the same to others. This is how I will pay back society”.
  2. Overcompensate in relationships and develop a real unhealthy need to be loved by all without setting boundaries.

What we don’t always realize is that how we treat others says a lot about who we are as a person.

So, sometimes those that struggle with boundaries or push people away can have the most delicate self-esteem. Equally…
