I came across this message a few months ago, and it has stuck in my mind ever since. As someone who uses the internet frequently, these inspirational or motivating “sayings” are bound to be heard.

Normally, we just consume all this motivating bullcrap and go on with our lives. But this one is different. What even is Art?

Vagabond by Takehiko Inoue

You would think that Art is something that is drawn or preserved for others to admire. But I believe there’s more to it. Is it our purpose? Our passion? Or is it simply our responsibility to our soul?

I don’t want to talk like I am some ancient philosopher preaching about the true meaning of life to others. Nahh, I’m way too young and dumb for that kind of stuff.

What I'm saying is that Art is something that shouldn’t be objective but subjective, as the only person your Art should revolve around is you.

I would say that our Art is something that is not only deeply connected to our soul but also showcases parts of our character. Whether you partake in sport, drawing, writing, music, etc., or want to do something that allows you to get a deeper understanding of yourself, all of those things are Art.

This philosophy of being obsessive about our art came from none other than the Greatest Japanese Swordsman of All Time, Miyamoto Musashi.

Musashi explained in his books that when one finds the true meaning of his Art, he dedicates all his life choices to it. All other negative aspects of his character, like greed, envy, hatred, etc., fade away more and more because he is simply focused on himself, or rather, his Art.

All this sounds like some philosophical dilemma that we should only care about our purpose and leave everything else, and there might be some truth to it, but overall we can interpret it like this.

Our Art must be the major thing that defines us; it allows us to be focused on life so that we can truly enjoy other aspects of our lives to the fullest.

When we develop close and personal bonds with people who not only support our dreams but are also there for us every step of the way, only then can we truly appreciate our existence and be grateful to the people around us.

There is way more to "Think only of your Art” as we presume. We, as people, tend to repeat the same day over and over again to our deaths rather than living life to the fullest. Finding our purpose might not bring happiness, but it will surely bring peace within our inner selves.

I took a small break, but I'm back, and I am going to try writing as frequently as possible. Bye……

A life experience for me:
