Two Hours a Day
The optimum productivity system
The funny thing about simplicity is that it gets overlooked in favor of complexity because things feel like they should be complicated.
It’s a headscratcher.
Most things tend to be simple, difficult, but simple (a very subtle difference that I got confused about for a long while).
But some things are simple — do the work, be kind, get outside — but tend to get overlooked because they feel deceptive. How can life be that simple?
Unless you’re doing the work, you’re not doing the work
Instead, you (by you I mean I) start to look for more complex solutions to a difficult problem. Productivity books, guides, Notion templates, techniques.
All serve as the ultimate procrastination in disguise of productivity.
They make you feel like you’re doing the work — newsflash, you’re not.
I am not.
Unless you are doing the work aka writing the thing, researching the thing, editing the thing, doing the thing — you are not, I repeat, not doing the work. You are pretending to do the work, which is perhaps worse than admitting you are not doing the work at all.
