I wasn’t going to write this article.

Last night, just as I was going to bed, I had another idea forming in my mind. It was brilliant. I even had a structure planned out.

But I was tired. I considered writing it down on my phone, but I thought, “No, I won’t forget this one. How can I forget this? It’s too good. I know I’ll wake up thinking about it.”

Every morning I wake up, and the following things happen in my thoughts:

  1. What day is it?
  2. What significant things happened yesterday?
  3. Did I wash out my cafetiere yesterday or do I have to do it this morning
  4. Have I got any ideas for an article?

So this morning, those thoughts went through my mind, and I answered as follows:

  1. Wednesday.
  2. Yes, a couple of significant things happened yesterday (not for Medium consumption).
  3. Yes — I’m so happy when I wash out my cafetiere the night before. It saves around 30 seconds each morning. So good.
  4. Oh yes, I had such a good idea for an article. Now, what was it?
