Like Achilles (but without the heel problem)

What if there was some invention or discovery where everyone was, in effect, bulletproof? This technology allows each of us to have a permanent suit of impenetrable armor. It would be impossible to be harmed physically. However, you would not be able to physically harm anyone either.

Don’t get hung up on the technology or functionality. For purposes of this mental exercise, there is no Achilles heel.

Could someone poison you? No, the suit of armor has the technology to protect you from being poisoned. Smother you? Same answer. Could someone…? No.

Would it be bulky? No, pretend it’s some invisible, micro-thin nanotechnology.

It’s so good that you can’t even tell the person is wearing the suit of armor. The wearer could never be physically harmed, manipulated, trapped, imprisoned, etc., ever. Also, assume everyone has one from the moment they are born and throughout their life and they never have to take it off.

Maybe this will be invented one day. While we wait, here’s a random, non-inclusive list of consequences, and then a few comments concerning what this tells us about our current state of human affairs.

Would physical abuse
