Now, let’s take a closer look at some of the roles required in a production.

Directors are people who work in the center of the production where they oversee the shooting and creative elements that go into a film. They are constantly visualising the look of a film which is extremely important as these would determine how the script turns out, where to film and more.

If you like to capture moments on film, being a Cinematographer may be the job that you are looking for. Cinematographers are generally responsible for shooting the film while considering the visuality of every shot based on the lighting, shot angles, camera movement and more.

Do you love taking photographs — taking a selfie, wefie or photographs of people, food and the scenery?

Photographers capture images of people, places, events and objects to tell a story or record an event. Most of them specialise in a particular type of photography. Here are some of the more common ones:

Portrait Photographers take pictures of people in studios or on-site at various locations that are usually picturesque to bring out their subjects’ features more.

Commercial Photographers snaps various subjects such as models, buildings, and merchandises. These images are usually seen on magazine covers, in books, advertisements and catalogues.

Photojournalists take photographs of people, places and events. These images would be used to illustrate stories in newspapers, magazines, or on news broadcasts.

Most photographers work for companies/industries that require photographic services. If not, they would be working for themselves as freelancers. No matter where they work at, they are required to apply their knowledge and techniques to their shoots and make necessary adjustments to their photos. Now, let’s take a look at some qualities that photographers should have.

What does the sky look like when you look at it from the floor?

What does the bottle look like the moment it hits the floor?

What does the sports car look like when it is in a scrapyard?

Photographers question themselves and see things in a different way to produce unique and emotive images. By playing with different perspectives and angles, an element of creativity is then added to their work. With this creative aspect, photographers assemble a visual experience that would evoke certain emotions and memories.
