This June holiday, a group of enthusiastic students joined us for a day to kickstart their very own crowd-funding project. Letā€™s just say these young kids are going to grow up to be very passionate entrepreneurs in their own ways!

Hereā€™s what went down:

MORNING: IDEATION TIME! šŸ’”

After some games to break the ice, the students dived straight into a sharing session about their interests and their project ideas.

It was amazing to hear that these students have varied interests and passions ā€” some were into dancing and music while others were into games, prototyping, and even social issues.

Shortly after, we introduced Lih Wei and he shared about his experience starting and executing an actual crowd-funding project when TinyMOS just started. The students were excited to hear his personal stories and very eager to ask questions as well!

After mapping common interests together, the students formed into two groups to work on the project idea.

AFTERNOON: GET OUT OF THE CLASSROOM! šŸƒšŸ»

After a quick lunch break, students went on the streets to interview people and validate their ideas and assumptions. I have to say this part was nerve-wrecking for some, but weā€™re very proud that our students rose up to the challenge!

EVENING: FINAL SHOWCASE & FILMING šŸ“¹

In this last segment, students consolidated findings from their interviews and refined their projects.

Discussing about how to best change their project to solve the problem
Visualising how their project would look like

Thereafter, they filmed a short video intended to be published on a crowd-funding site to gather support for their projects. They learnt how to best present themselves in front of a camera to exude enthusiasm and spread the word about their project ideas.

Apart from learning how to best craft their message, the students also picked up some video filming skills and techniques.

Weā€™re very thankful for this passionate bunch of students for joining us and inspiring us in their own ways! (:
