With less than 9 Months to NEET PG 2021, many aspirants are having the same question in their minds “How to crack NEET PG in 9 Months?”.

Or wait, the real question is “Can I really crack NEET PG in 9 Months?”.

Dr. Abha Mehta proves that it is possible to crack NEET PG with 9 months of preparation. She herself, managed to crack both NEET PG and AIIMS PG with a rank under 2k, that too, with a preparation period of mere 9 months.

By the time you are done watching this reading this blog, “How to crack NEET PG in 9 Months?” will no longer be a question but your next aim!

Dr. Abha started her preparation in Mid-March’19. Before that, she had zero exposure to NEET PG. The thought scared her initially but her determination to crack NEET PG overpowered the same.

“My flight back home was at 14th Mar’19 and I had my first class at 16th March. So I had 9.5 months, in case I don’t even waste a single day. I started studying the day I woke on Mar 16. I took a break of 15 days during this time period so I had exact 9 months for my preparation. Not a day more or not a day less…”

Believe that it is possible

Our focus is on those people who fail to crack NEET PG. For those, who have cracked it, we tend to overlook them. It is always tempting to believe that you can’t reach your goal because you don’t have the knowledge or the talent. Dr. Abha, couldn’t fulfill the criteria to do MBBS from some government college but this didn’t stop her from dreaming the impossible.

Get Rid of Procrastination

Cracking NEET PG in a limited time period is not a herculean task, unless you’re a serial procrastinator.

According to Dr. Abha, “If you procrastinate on a topic, YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO DO IT. I am not telling you to push yourself till late even if you are feeling sleepy but if there is a topic that is supposed to be done today and for some reason if you couldn’t it then do that as a first thing in the morning. Because if you keep on pilling up things, it will not happen.”

Be Consistent

Dr. Abha couldn’t focus more on the importance of routine which proved to be a game-changer during her preparation period.

She agrees with the fact that there are always ups and downs during one’s preparation. But when there are downs, you got to have a baseline. Even during those break days, make sure to study for some minimal hours.

She regularly attempted Pre-Pg’s daily test to evaluate where she is currently standing in the competition.

“The daily tests on Pre-Pg used to boost me up. Sometimes, they also used to put me down, because I wasn’t performing to my best every single time. But in the end, if you have studied well, your position continuously improves and that’s what matters.”

Strengthen Your Concepts by Practicing

The vast syllabus is often is the biggest barrier during the NEET preparation, but it wasn’t for Dr. Abha.

“There are 19 subjects in NEET PG. They didn’t trouble me much as Pre-Pg solved that issue by giving such a wide variety of questions. It gives you questions right from 1999 which helped me to strengthen my basics, to questions from recent years which helped me gauge where I am going wrong in my revision part.”

According to her,

Incorrect Old Year’s Question = Lack of Understanding the Basics

Incorrect Recent Year’s Question = Preparation Lacks Proper Revision

Small things will matter

We often tend to overlook small things during our preparation. She believes that if you take care of these small things then they can provide you an extra edge over others.

“You will join a coaching, finish the notes and then revise. Everybody does.

I am not talking about the Top-200 but in between 200 to 3000 everybody read the same thing. What matters is what strikes to you”, She shared.

Evaluate Yourself

Dr. Abha strongly advices aspirants to work on their weaknesses and play by their strengths. But in order to do so, you first need to know what exactly are your strengths and weaknesses.

I found Interface of Pre-PG quite good. I can create my own topic test that can be customized by a number of questions, and time.”, She added.

Apart from regular tests, she frequently practiced revision tests on Pre-PG to eradicate her weaknesses.

“When you do a mistake, you experience the same question in revision tests of Pre-PG. And when you encounter those, again and again, it inscripts into your mind and there are very less chances that you will repeat them.”

Don’t burnout

“If those 5 questions can take your rank from one thousand to four thousand. You can do those 5 questions right now, NOT LATER.” She says.

According to her, it's important to work hard for dreams but in the end, we shouldn’t blame ourselves. Whatever comes, accept that. You will do silly mistakes, everybody does. You can just try to reduce it.

“There were the times when I used to get bored and couldn’t study anymore. I used to go through the discussion page on Pre-Pg and just read the doubts that other aspiants had and then suddenly used to realize ‘hey this is my doubt’ and that’s how things got cleared.”

For the exam day, she strongly advises students to attempt paper with a calm and composed mind rather than taking unnecessary stress.

“If you have related to things, you will somehow get it. Very Difficult to believe even I also didn’t believe it initially.”, She says.

We strongly believe that the above NEET PG preparation tips by Dr. Abha will help you if you are stuck in the dilemma of how to prepare for NEET PG in 9 months.
