Recently, I met with a patient during my rotation. while asking about his family history. He told me, “My uncle passed away last year after struggling with colon cancer.

And according to me, if he went for a regular screening test, then it would have been possible to diagnose him in time.

I will talk to you about 8 important health screenings that could potentially and literally be a matter of life and death.

#1. Blood pressure screening

Working in the cardiology section, I came into a 35-year-old man with severe retinopathy from high hypertension. Years ago was the last time he took his blood pressure check.

He thought he was “too young” for such problems to surface.

Simple cause and effect apply here. Usually, long-standing hypertension causes the endothelium to be destroyed, leading to the formation of atherosclerosis and finally damages the target organ.

The number of people avoiding even such a basic preventive approach is astounding.
