A Cyberattack on a Nuclear plant
Nuclear powerplants host the most detonating power known to humankind. But its cybersecurity needs an overhaul to keep it safe from hackers.
Developing countries around the world are in constant demand for a lot of energy. To meet these demands, India had set up several nuclear power plants across the country. One of the most critical projects among them is the Kudankulam nuclear power plant situated on the southern tip of India. It is the largest collaboration between Russia and India, which started in 1990. With 9000 MW power generation, it has three nuclear reactors and four more in the pipeline. Russia supplied India with the technology and needed resources to construct, maintain, and operate the plant. The Nuclear power plant has been a topic of discussion due to the recent cyber attack alleged to be from North Korea in September 2019.
