Achilles heel of Mars Polar lander
Its NASA’s second attempt to reach MARS, and it is more audacious than the first attempt. The Mars lander entered the atmosphere of Mars on December 3, 1999. The Mars polar lander is in its final descent. Boom it vanishes into thin air. Its communication with Earth is wholly cut off. It, too, had an Achilles heel.
