An era of IoT — Machine-to-Machine Communication (M2M)
What is M2M communication?
In the era of technology, people are more tend to the easy way of getting things done, the best example is having automation in every single area. This is nothing but the robot/machine controls the other machines. In order to accomplish such a zeal, there should be some interface between the two machines over which they can send and receive the messages, so is the machine-to-machine(M2M) communication.
M2M communication is the latest trend in industrial evolution that combines the information technology with machine data communication between devices or machines.
The future is already in the making for the M2M communication over the various networks via several low powered medium such as LoWPAN, ZigBee, Bluetooth (Bluetooth Low Energy).
M2M and IoT together can be very beneficial to the plant and machine to send and receive data to/from the cloud or client system.
Modern industry adaptations
Over the past few decades, technologies are more concentrating on the machines production environment and trying to connect Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector to it, which is eventually helping them by providing closeup at the data flow in the production process. It will be easy to measure and manage the system parameters and capability by connecting production environment to the Internet or Intranet.
Industry 4.0, a term shaped by representatives of German industry leaders and researchers describing how IoT will improve the industrial engineering, production, logistics, and lifecycle management processes.
The idea behind the technology is to achieve a unified communication methodology that makes one device to communicate with the other device of the same capabilities to reduce the network overhead.
