An era of IoT — Web of Things (WoT)
Considering a low powered device which doesn’t have the ability to store much data and is not connected over TCP/IP layer but too low powered wireless infrastructure like ZigBee, Bluetooth etc. If these objects also wanted to connect to the internet then, they also require the interface to extend their reachability.
The general architecture consists of nodes on the constrained network, called Devices, that are responsible for one or more resources that may represent sensors, actuators, combinations of value, and other information.
- Devices send messages to change and query resources on other devices.
- Devices can express their interest to receive notification about changes.
- A device can also publish or be queried about its resources.
IoT defines the connection and communication overview between IP enabled embedded devices over the Internet, which enables regular monitoring and surveillance on the device, system or machine that assigned to do some job like measurement of temperature or pressure or to measure the health status of a patient. IoT enables the communication based on the minimum two entities where one acts a sending entity while other is receiving entity on the reliable communication networking semantics.
The figure below shows an example of IoT scenario with the distributive system to acquire data from IoT devices store it into the Database and provide the queried data followed by the result processing to the remote devices over the network.
